Metro Vancouver detached market begins 2020 on the downside

Metro Vancouver detached price decline continued into January 2020 as the market shed all the gains made during the surge in sales seen last fall.

The Open House House Price Index for detached properties – calculated using the generally-accepted and transparent repeat sales or Case-Shiller method1 – fell 3.89% year-over-year, the January mid-month update shows.

Here’s what detached sales looked like in the last 30 days. All assessed values are from the 2020 assessment.
