Metro Vancouver townhouse prices slide in January

Metro Vancouver townhouse market began the new year with prices sliding in January 2020 as increased activity witnessed in fall 2019 failed to buoy buyer confidence.

The Open House House Price Index for townhouse properties – calculated using the generally-accepted and transparent repeat sales or Case-Shiller method1 – fell 1.55% year-over-year, the January delayed mid-month update shows.

Here’s what townhouse sales looked like in the last 30 days. All assessed values are from the 2020 assessment.
