Metro Vancouver detached home sale volume plummets 83% from peak

In the 30 days leading up to March 15, 2016, Metro Vancouver detached home sales volume averaged a staggering $159 million dollars a day. In the 30 days leading up to August 30, 2019, the figure had dropped to just $26 million –– an 83% plunge. This represents a year-over-year drop of 21% across the region.

Looking at the major municipalities individually, Vancouver single family detached sales volume has dropped 84% from peak, Richmond 84%, West Vancouver 82%, Burnaby 80%, Surrey 78% and Langley 72%.

    A shame Realtor commissions have to take it on the chin but we know they made so much money over the past decade…..they can handle 5 years of starvation wages.
